I grew up in Reno, NV, where I started studying Jazz saxophone in middle school, and received bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies/Saxophone Performance from UNR, during which time I played in several original projects such as Sly Buford, The Ryan Parrish Quartet, The Jazz Cavalry, The Droogs of Eidetia, Osmodiar, The Mark Sexton Band, and others. In the fall of 2008 I moved to Seattle with Bassist Mike Mayhall, and Drummer Dan Weiss, Where we started the instrumental Dub Reggae Quartet DUBSAK.

During my time in Seattle, I also started and joined such bands as Late Monkey/Early Man, Misery Love Company, Tubaluba, Show Brazil!, and The Lockwood Trio.

In 2010 I moved to Los Angeles and studied music from Ghana, Eastern Europe, Japan, Indonesia, and at California Institute of the Arts and received my Masters Degree in Jazz Reeds/World Music. Since then I've formed Stupid Man Suit, formed Red Fiction (formerly Atomic Ape) with Jason Schimmel, joined up with Duk, became a member of Secret Chiefs 3 and various other artists and bands around Los Angeles such as Maxim Ludwig, The Reverend Shawn Amos, Tobias Jesso Jr., and The Peculiar Pretzelmen , Orkestar Meze, Izela, Ya-Ya, any many others, including recording Tenor and Baritone Saxophones for Sparks on their album A Steady Drip Drip Drip, as well as the original mtion picture soundtrack for "Annette".

I am available in Southern California for lessons in music, saxophone, jazz, improvising, theory, reading, and generally all things concerning music to all people of all skill levels and ages.
